PyeongChang Olympics the key agenda for inter-Korean dialogue: Cheong Wa Dae

All News 11:41 January 05, 2018

SEOUL, Jan. 5 (Yonhap) -- South Korea and North Korea may discuss ways to improve their overall ties when they meet next week for their first dialogue in over two years, but such efforts may commence only after the divided Koreas first discuss the North's participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games, the country's presidential office Cheong Wa Dae said Friday.

"The priority is on North Korea's participation in the PyeongChang Winter Olympic Games," a ranking Cheong Wa Dae official told reporters, while speaking on condition of anonymity.

"I believe there will be discussions related to improving South-North ties after the North's participation in the Olympics becomes final," the official added.
