SEOUL, Jan. 9 (Yonhap) -- Mongolian Prime Minister Ukhnaa Khurelsukh will visit South Korea next week for talks with Prime Minister Lee Nak-yon about ways to enhance the substantial cooperation between the two countries, Lee's office said Tuesday.

The Jan. 15-17 visit will be Khurelsukh's first overseas trip since he took office in October

He is scheduled to hold talks with Lee on Jan. 16 and attend a welcoming dinner hosted by Lee. He also plans to attend a forum of business leaders from the two countries, and a meeting with Mongolian residents in South Korea.

Relations between South Korea and Mongolia have steadily progressed since the two countries established diplomatic relations in 1990. In 2011, the ties were upgraded to a "comprehensive partnership."
