LG Electronics showcases premium home appliances in France

SEOUL, Feb. 9 (Yonhap) -- LG Electronics Inc. said Friday it has showcased its premium televisions and other electronic goods at a festival in France in the latest efforts to boost its market share in Europe.

The South Korean tech giant said visitors had a firsthand chance to experience a wide range of LG products equipped with its artificial intelligence platform, DeepThinQ, at the Palais des Festivals in Cannes, southern France.

The two-day festival that ends Friday drew about 300 visitors, according to LG Electronics.

LG said its TVs equipped with DeepThinQ allow people to operate TVs through voice command.

LG also said its refrigerators can check food in refrigerators and make recommendations for food while its ovens can automatically choose the appropriate settings for cooking.

"We will enhance LG's brand in premium markets in Europe through home appliances equipped with artificial intelligence," said Na Young-bae, head of LG Electronics in Europe.
