Project band Wanna One announces 13-city world tour
SEOUL, April 2 (Yonhap) -- Project K-pop band Wanna One will launch a 13-city world tour this year, according to its production company Monday.
The group, comprised of 11 winners of the popular survival reality show "Produce 101 Season 2," will embark on the tour, titled "Wanna One World Tour -- One: The World," later this year, CJ E&M said.
The tour will launch in Seoul and later take the band to the U.S. cities of San Jose, Dallas, Chicago and Atlanta. They will later head to Singapore, Jakarta, Kuala Lumpur, Hong Kong, Bangkok and Melbourne. Exact dates and venues will be announced later.
Wanna One's 2017 debut EP, "1X1=1 To Be One," was one of the biggest launch albums of any K-pop act. It sold over 740,000 copies and the repackaged version, "1-1=0 Nothing Without You," sold 614,072 copies, a remarkable number for a K-pop debut album.
Its second EP, "0+1=1 (I Promise You)," was released earlier this month, with preorders reaching over 700,000. The band was launched as a project set to last until end of 2018.
