PANMUNJOM, Korea, June 1 (Joint Press Corps-Yonhap) -- South Korea and North Korea agreed Friday to hold general-level military talks on June 14 as part of efforts to ease tensions between the two countries.

They also agreed to hold a Red Cross meeting on June 22 to discuss holding a reunion of families separated by the 1950-53 Korean War, as agreed upon by their leaders in a April 27 summit.

The decisions were made as part of a deal the two reached during high-level talks held at the truce village of Panmunjom in the heavily fortified Demilitarized Zone that divides the Koreas.
