WASHINGTON, June 4 (Yonhap) -- The United States will keep sanctions on North Korea until the country dismantles its nuclear weapons program, the White House said Monday ahead of a high-stakes summit between the countries' leaders.

"Our policy hasn't changed and we wouldn't take the pressure off until we see denuclearization," White House press secretary Sarah Sanders said at a regular news briefing.

She said the June 12 summit in Singapore will begin at 9 a.m. local time.
