SEOUL, June 7 (Yonhap) -- Ford Sales Service Korea and Daimler Trucks Korea will voluntarily recall more than 1,600 vehicles to fix faulty parts, the transport ministry here said Thursday.

It is the latest in a series of recalls by carmakers and importers to ensure vehicles meet safety rules.

The two carmakers plan to recall three different models totaling 1,631 vehicles. The models include the Ford Mondeo midsize sedan and Daimler Trucks' Arocs truck, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport said in a statement.

The problems include the Mondeo's malfunctioning powertrain control module and faulty parts in the Arocs' propeller shaft, the statement said.

Vehicle owners can visit designated repair and service centers to have the parts replaced free of charge starting Friday, it said.
