SEOUL, July 4 (Yonhap) -- North Korea's media Wednesday reported a South Korean delegation's trip to Pyongyang for friendly basketball matches.

The delegation led by South Korea's Unification Minister Cho Myoung-gyon arrived in Pyongyang on Tuesday for the "games of reunification," the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA) said.

The KCNA also reported on a welcoming dinner hosted by the country's culture and sports ministry at the Okryugwan restaurant. It did not offer details on game schedules and others.

The 100-strong delegation consists of government officials, male and female basketball players, coaches, staff members and journalists. They arrived in Pyongyang early Tuesday on two military airplanes.

Four friendly basketball matches are planned in Pyongyang on Wednesday and Thursday. The games were arranged during working-level talks on sports exchanges in mid-June in a follow-up to the agreement between their heads of state.

This is the fourth time in history that the two Koreas have held friendly basketball games. The last such games were played in October 2003.

The delegation is to return home Friday.
