Samsung, LG release new products aimed at younger users
SEOUL, July 11 (Yonhap) -- South Korean tech giants are releasing new products targeting users in their 20s and 30s, as they seek to expand sales in the summer months, which are normally considered a low season for the market.
LG Electronics Inc. showcased the LG Pra.L compact beauty appliance lineup, which comes at a more affordable price compared with the original Pra.L products.
A full package of four different beauty appliances, including the Derma LED Mask, comes with a price tag of 1.6 million won (US$1,432), compared with the 1.9 million won for the original products.
LG also earlier introduced three LG EXBOOM Go portable speakers, which are suitable for outdoor activities. The PK3 speaker is able to withstand being submerged for 30 minutes under a meter of water. The PK7 and PK5 speakers are also easily portable and can be held in one hand, the company said.
Samsung Electronics Co. recently showcased unlocked Galaxy J6 and Galaxy A6 smartphones to target younger users with price tags of 330,000 won and 396,000 won, respectively.
The smartphones focused on improving features used frequently by younger users, such as displays for better gaming experiences and cameras for selfies.
