Former Samsung Electronics exec nabbed over alleged labor union sabotage

SEOUL, Aug. 6 (Yonhap) -- A former senior official of tech giant Samsung Electronics Co. was arrested Monday on suspicion of having played leading role in sabotaging a labor union at the company.

The Seoul Central District Court issued a warrant to detain the former executive surnamed Mok on charges of violating laws regarding labor unions and labor relations.

The court mainly cited the risk of him destroying evidence.

The 54-year-old is suspected of spearheading an organized scheme to disrupt labor union activities among workers.
