Gov't to conduct health survey on Korean adults

SEOUL, Aug. 9 (Yonhap) -- The government will conduct an annual nationwide survey on the health of some 230,000 adults across the country later this year, the health authorities said Thursday.

The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) will visit the houses of adults aged over 19 and will conduct a detailed survey on their life patterns, such their smoking, drinking and eating habits, between next Thursday and Oct. 31.

The KCDC will measure their heights and weights for the first time this year to calculate the obesity rate, they said.
