Vietnam's PM congratulates football team for advancing to semifinals of Asiad
HANOI, Sept. 3 (Yonhap) -- Vietnam's Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc on Monday invited football head coach Park Hang-seo and his team to the country's government complex building and congratulated them on their achievements at the Asian Games.
Vietnam reached the semifinals of the Asian Games for the first time, a performance that made Park a hero in the Southeast Asian country.
On Monday, Phuc also extended congratulations to Vietnamese athletes who participated in the 2018 Asian Games in Indonesia.
Vietnam finished 17th out of 45 countries and territories in the medal tally of the continental sporting event, with 4 gold, 16 silver and 18 bronze medals, according to the website of the Vietnamese government's online newspaper.
