S. Korea's Dunamu to launch crypto exchange in Singapore next month

SEOUL, Sept. 19 (Yonhap) -- Dunamu Inc., operator of South Korea's leading cryptocurrency exchange, said Wednesday it plans to launch a digital currency exchange in Singapore next month.

The company, which runs the local exchange Upbit set up a Singaporean branch in February and has been actively pushing to tap into the Asian market.

Though the exact date of the launch is yet to be fixed, the service in Singapore will be available starting early October, according to the firm.

"As Singapore has proactively supported blockchain technology, our advancement into the nation will help us secure many chances to lead a variety of relevant projects and to have global competitiveness," said Kim Kook-hyun, head of Upbit's Singaporean branch.
