Samsung SDI takes part in InterBattery 2018

SEOUL, Oct. 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's battery maker Samsung SDI Co. said Wednesday it took part in the InterBattery 2018 exhibition held in South Korea, where it showcased its latest technologies.

InterBattery 2018 kicked off in Seoul on Wednesday for a three-day run, with around 200 battery-related companies participating.

Samsung SDI said it displayed electric vehicle batteries and energy storage systems (ESS) at the exhibition to help visitors better understand the technologies behind battery products.

The company displayed the BMW i3 electric vehicle, which is equipped with Samsung SDI's battery.

Samsung SDI also showcased its new battery cell technology, which enables electric cars to run up to 500 kilometers on a single charge.
