SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Yonhap) -- The defense chiefs of South Korea and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) will hold talks here this week on military and defense industry cooperation, Seoul's Ministry of National Defense said Tuesday.
Defense Minister Jeong Kyeong-doo is scheduled to meet with Mohammed bin Ahmed Al Bowardi, the UAE minister of state for defense affairs, in Seoul on Wednesday.
The two sides plan to have "in-depth" discussions on ways to strengthen bilateral defense ties to match their overall relationship that was upgraded to a "special, strategic" partnership in March, the ministry said.
This week's talks are expected to serve as a chance for further cementing trust-based ties between the defense authorities of the two nations, it added.
