SEOUL, Dec. 4 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co. said Tuesday that BBC TopGear Magazine named the South Korean carmaker its Manufacturer of the Year for its diverse and ambitious product lineup.
Hyundai won the world-renowned Top Gear Magazine Award, helped by its rapid development in recent years and diversified lineup composed of the i30N hot hatch, fuel-efficient Ioniq and Kona Electric models, the carmaker said in a statement.
"After decades of us telling you Hyundais have less personality than call center hold music, the South Koreans have pulled it off. Hyundai now boasts an arsenal of cars to make established conglomerates jealous. An underdog that wins best in show? Humble Hyundai has come a long way," Top Gear said.
