Koreas to hold talks this week on co-hosting Olympics

SEOUL, Dec. 10 (Yonhap) -- Sports officials of South and North Korea will meet later this week to discuss following up on a summit agreement to co-host the 2032 Summer Olympics and form joint teams for Olympics and international competitions, the unification ministry said Monday.

The meeting will take place at the joint liaison office in the North Korean border city of Kaesong on Friday. Vice Sports Minister Roh Tae-kang will lead the South's delegation and his North Korean counterpart will be Vice Sports Minister Won Kil-u, the ministry said.

In their third summit in Pyongyang in September, President Moon Jae-in and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un agreed to work together to co-host the 2032 Olympic Games and field joint teams for the 2020 Summer Olympics and other international sports competitions as part of reconciliation efforts.
