SEOUL, Dec. 12 (Yonhap) -- President Moon Jae-in will preside over an extended meeting of economy-related ministers to discuss the government's overall economic policy, his office said Wednesday.

The meeting will take place on Monday, with new Finance Minister Hong Nam-ki, Education Minister Yoo Eun-hae and heads of other key ministries and government agencies in attendance, Cheong Wa Dae spokesman Kim Eui-kyeom told a press briefing.

Presidential secretaries and senior presidential aides will also take part in the meeting.

It will be the first meeting of its kind to be presided over by Moon since he took office in May 2017.

Earlier in the day, Moon received his first briefing from Hong, who took office on Tuesday, during which the president accepted the minister's proposal to allow him to brief on key issues regularly, Kim said. Moon instructed him to announce any result of the discussion to the public if deemed necessary, the spokesman added.

"What the president discussed with Minister Hong today will be announced after Monday's meeting," he added.
