SEOUL, Jan. 7 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's foreign ministry said Monday it will issue references to 1,000 young adults to apply for Britain's Youth Mobility Scheme (YMS).

The visa program enables foreigners to work and travel in Britain for up to two years, having replaced the working holiday visa program.

For South Koreans, only those with references offered by their government can apply for it.

Applicants need to send related documents by mail to the ministry's working holiday information center between Dec. 14 and 18. It plans to make public the list of 1,000 successful applicants on Feb. 13 on its website, whic.mofa.go.kr. Relevant details are available on the website.
