SEOUL, Jan. 11 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co., South Korea's biggest carmaker by sales, said Friday it will begin the sale of the "Kona Ironman Edition" in global markets this month.
The Kona subcompact sport utility vehicle, which features the Marvel superhero character, will go on sale first in the Korean market on Jan. 23 and in other markets afterward, the company said in a statement.
Over the past two years, Hyundai designers have partnered with Marvel to come up with the limited edition vehicle.
Out of 7,000 Kona Ironman Edition models, 1,700 are allocated for the Korean market. The car comes with a turbocharged 1.6-liter gasoline engine and a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission, the company said.
The model is priced at 29.45 million won (US$26,300), with the option of four-wheel drive in Korea, according to the company. Prices for global markets have yet to be released.
