Finance ministry to sell 6 tln won debt

SEJONG, Feb. 8 (Yonhap) -- South Korea's finance ministry said Friday that it plans to sell a combined 6 trillion won (US$5.3 billion) worth of debt this month to meet a temporary money shortfall.
The 63-day 2 trillion won debt is set to be sold on Feb. 13, 20 and 27, according to the Ministry of Economy and Finance.
The finance ministry has the authority to sell debts or borrow money from the country's central bank to resolve financial mismatches or to finance state projects.
