HANOI, March 1 (Yonhap) -- North Korea asked for the removal of sanctions impacting its civilian economy and livelihoods during this week's summit with the United States, a senior U.S. official was quoted by Reuters as saying.
The remark attributed to a State Department official confirms what North Korean Foreign Minister Ri Yong-ho claimed that his side requested earlier in talks between North Korean leader Kim Jong-un and U.S. President Donald Trump in Hanoi on Wednesday and Thursday.
