SEOUL, April 5 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Motor Co. said Friday it has launched its fourth open innovation center, named CRADLE, in Berlin, Germany, which will be put in charge of forging cooperation with European partners that possess the technologies of the future.

The automotive company has three CRADLE locations -- one each in Silicon Valley in the United States, Seoul and Tel Aviv, Israel.

"(Germany) creates an exciting ecosystem for innovation, which is why we opened the office here in Berlin," Edvin Erikson, head of CRADLE Berlin, said. "As a strategic investor, we are exploring disruptive tech and business ideas and are going to support European research and technology development at a regional level. With this in mind, we have already started some interesting partnerships in various European cities and will continue growing."

Hyundai Motor is planning another CRADLE office in Beijing, according to company officials.
