S. Korea to offer $3 million worth of aid related to Venezuela crisis
SEOUL, April 5 (Yonhap) -- The South Korean government announced a plan Friday to provide Venezuela and three other Latin American nations with humanitarian assistance worth a total of US$3 million.
The decision came as a growing number of Venezuelans flee their country's deepening economic and humanitarian crisis. Colombia, Peru and Ecuador have been shouldering the burden of accepting refugees.
Seoul plans to offer $1 million for medical supplies and food for residents in Venezuela and the remainder to support refugees and aid agencies in the other three countries, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
