JEJU, South Korea, April 17 (Yonhap) -- The Jeju provincial government on Wednesday nullified its conditional approval of a Chinese-owned medical center as South Korea's first for-profit hospital.

The Shanghai-based Greenland Group recently requested the extension of the March 4 deadline for the opening of the Greenland International Medical Center on the southern resort island.

For-profit hospitals in South Korea are medical institutions that combine foreign capital with domestic medical resources and provide comprehensive medical services to foreign patients.
