British foreign ministry official visits Pyongyang
SEOUL, May 17 (Yonhap) -- A British foreign ministry official in charge of Northeast Asian and Pacific affairs has visited Pyongyang, according to the country's top envoy in North Korea.
The visit by James Squire, head of the Northeast Asia and Pacific Department, was shown in a Twitter message by Britain's Ambassador to North Korea, Colin Crooks.
"James Squire, Head of NE Asia and Pacific Dept, met North Korea Foreign Ministry, Cultural Committee and Institute for Disarmament and Peace," Crooks wrote on Twitter on Monday.
The purpose of Squire's visit and the length his of stay were not immediately known.
