As the extreme cold comes back for a change, places like ski resorts are crowded with people enjoying winter sports.

Lee Hae-yong has more on people welcoming the cold wave.

A gigantic ice cliff overwhelms spectators.

Underneath the ice cliff, a lesson on climbing is in progress.

Students rely on a rope and take one step at a time.

The feeling of aiming for the peak is incomparable to any other.

Due to the strongest cold wave yet, the ice cliff is in great condition too.

<Min Kyeong-suk / Seongnam, Gyeonggi Province> "The weather used to be too warm, but now the cold wave has brought back the cold weather. So the ice cliff has frozen more and become better for climbing, and it is a lot of fun."

<Kim Sung-ki / Teacher at K Climbing School> "Normally, people stay huddled up and do not do anything because it is cold. However, moving around in the cold weather helps with your immune system and is best for your health."

Ski resorts are like a sea of primary colors.

Young people armed with thick clothes race through a silver field of snow.

Children who tagged along with adults are busy sledding.

<Lee Tae-hwan, Cheon Nu-ri / Incheon, Seoul> "I came with my girlfriend. The weather is so cold, but we are having so much fun. We are gliding down fast despite the cold."

The excitement for winter sports is heating up more than ever despite the strongest cold wave yet.
