Nammun Union in Suwon of Gyeonggi Province, Jagalchi Market in Busan, Andong-gu in North Gyeongsang Province, and Dongdaemun Union in Seoul were selected as Global Markets. They will be receiving a maximum of five billion won each over three years in financial support.
The Small and Medium Business Administration revealed that in order to foster the competitiveness of traditional markets, they will select a total of 694 markets this year to provide financial support of 321 billion won.
The Administration will first divide the markets into four types depending on their position and capacity, and select 98 to provide customized support. For the other 596 markets, they will spend a total of 115.3 billion won to build parking lots, strengthen vendor organizations, and support the establishment of the business models of the younger generation.
