Last month, a chicken-and-beer party for thousands of Chinese tourists in Wolmido was big news.

Next month at the Han River, a chicken soup party for 8,000 Chinese tourists will be held.

The City of Seoul planned this event given the popularity of the TV drama "Descendants of the Sun," and it looks like it will be yet another splendid sight to behold.

Park Hyun-woo has more.

This time, Korean chicken soup captured the hearts of women in China.

This is because in the Korean TV drama "Descendants of the Sun," which drew huge popularity in China, there was a scene where the male protagonists cook chicken soup to help their sick lovers recover. Inspired by this, the City of Seoul is planning a chicken soup party, following the chicken-and-beer party in Wolmido.

They will host the party at the Han River for 8,000 employees of the Zhongmai Group, a Chinese dietary supplements company, which will be visiting Korea next month on vacation.

Behind me is a 16,000-square-meter area, equivalent to three soccer fields put together. This area will be filled with tables for 10 for the chicken soup party on May 6 and 10.

For the chicken soup party held twice in Banpo Han River Park, 400 tables for 10 will be set up, and chicken soup, beer, ginseng liquor and kimchi for 4,000 people will be provided.

A concert will also be held for the audience to watch singers like Gummy, LYN and K-Will perform while they eat. These singers sang the original soundtrack for the TV drama "Descendants of the Sun."

In the meantime, from April 30 to early May, the City of Seoul and the police force will conduct an intensive crackdown on illegal acts like overcharging foreign tourists, in light of the Labor Day holiday in China and the Golden Week holiday in Japan.
