This is Korea's first public beach, Busan Songdo Beach.
A bridge stretches far across the ocean.
This is the Cloud Walk, opened on June 1 along with the beach by Seo-gu.
The Cloud Walk, which opened only a 104 m section last year, has been completed.
It is the longest trail over the ocean in Korea, measuring 365 m in length.
The trail, constructed 5-9 m above the water, has a floor made of tempered glass, making you feel like you are walking on the ocean's water.
<Kang Mun-sik / Suan-dong, Suyeong-gu, Busan> “I read online that the Cloud Walk was extended, and I think it was a good place for a date with my girlfriend. I want to come again because I think the night view will also be pretty.”
Though it is yet before the actual summer peak season, Songdo Beach is already crowded with visitors thanks to the opening of the Cloud Walk.
On June 4 and 5, 7,500 and 13,900 people visited the trail respectively, and on June 6, Memorial Day, 6,800 people visited.
<Choi Min-ho / Construction Department at Seo-gu Office, Busan> “Songdo Cloud Walk has design grating and tempered glass, which helps you view the ground. In addition, it was made into a curved circular bridge so that you could view the beautiful Songdo Beach. I think the trail will help the beach recover its fame as Korea’s number one beach.”
Songdo Beach is expected to improve, with an auto camping site and Songdo Ocean Park projected to be completed next April.
