The Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism revealed that beginning on Oct. 1 the National Museum of Korea, the National Folk Museum of Korea, and the National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art will be open all year round, with no holidays.

The ministry plans to apply this policy of “no-holiday museums and galleries” first to those in Seoul, and expand it to the rest of the country by next year.

Next year, the policy will apply to six more places, including the National Museum of Korean Contemporary History, National Hangeul Museum and Deoksugung Exhibition at MMCA, as well as the national museums in the Gyeongju, Gwangju and Jeonju regions.
