Ban Ki-moon, former secretary-general of the United Nations, who finished his 10-year term on Dec. 31, will return to Korea on Jan. 12, faster than planned.
An official from Ban's side said in an interview, "I was notified that he will return in the afternoon of Jan. 12."
Currently, Ban is scheduling to give a lecture at Harvard University on Jan. 10, and is also planning a dinner with his close acquaintances right after his return.
It is being reported that after his return, Ban will open an office in Mapo-gu of Seoul and make it his foothold for his domestic work.
