The government is pushing to blanket ban the circulation of live chickens in traditional markets.

The Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs is planning to prepare the "Development Measures for the Poultry Industry" as early as this month, that includes the rule that when trading chicken, ducks and other poultry, they must first be butchered.

The new measure also supports the building of small slaughterhouses in order to prevent the trading of live poultry in traditional markets.

The government plans to conduct a research and service report and an investigation into the demand for the installation of slaughterhouses by local governments by next month, and install three houses next year as a pilot project.
