The suspect responsible for the explosion at a professor's laboratory at Yonsei University yesterday morning (June 13) was arrested.
The suspect was revealed to be a graduate school student in the department of the injured professor.

The 25-year-old suspect, surnamed Kim, who left a homemade explosive in front of the laboratory of Professor Kim of the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Yonsei University, was arrested by the police.
Kim is suspected to have filled a tumbler with gunpowder and nails to create an improvised explosive device complete with a detonator, which injured Professor Kim after it exploded.
Kim is a graduate school student in the injured professor's department and is said to have been harboring ill feelings toward the professor.
The police analyzed CCTV footage around Yonsei University's School of Engineering where the explosion took place. After investigating the persons surrounding the injured professor, the police finally tracked Kim down.

The explosive was put into a parcel and placed at the door to the professor's office.
Professor Kim was injured when he opened the box that was inside the parcel.
Professor Kim suffered burns on his neck and arms for which he received treatment at the nearby Severance Hospital. It was reported that the injuries are not critical.
Immediately after the incident, the SWAT Explosives Analysis Team and Forensic Team were dispatched to the scene. Military authorities and the National Intelligence Service also investigated the scene to check if it was related to terrorism.
The police plans to conduct additional investigations into Kim's motive for and details on the crime and then request a warrant.
