Former President Lee Discharged from Hospital to Stand Trial

Former President Lee Myung-bak, who was hospitalized to undergo treatment for diabetes, will be placed on trial again.

Escorted by a patrol car, Lee looked weak but attended the trial as scheduled.

Yesterday, the Seoul Central District Court held a trial and court hearing for Lee on charges of taking bribes from Lee Pal-sung, the former chairman of Woori Financial Group, and Kim So-nam, a former lawmaker.

Prosecutors made presentations to prove Lee is guilty of accepting bribes based on confessions from Lee Baek-joon, who is known to be a close aide to Lee.
