Opposition leader calls for electoral reform

Sohn Hak-kyu (R), leader of the minor opposition Bareunmirae Party, treats a woman to a cup of coffee in Seoul on Jan. 14, 2019, as the party carries on a campaign to raise awareness on adopting a German-style mixed-member proportional representation electoral system. The party is calling for the ruling Democratic Party and the main opposition Liberty Korea Party to agree to the adoption of the system, which gives mid-sized parties a chance to get more seats in parliament.
