Photos of independence fighter Yu Gwan-sun

In this file photo, taken around 1915 or 1916, a person believed to be Yu Gwan-sun (C, front), a Korean independence fighter against Japan's colonial rule of Korea in the early 20th century, is pictured. The photo was believed to have been taken when Yu was a student of Ewha Girls High School in Seoul. On May 21, 2019, Ewha Womans University opened an exhibition on independence fighters who are from the school as part of events to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the 1919 popular movement that protested for independence from Japan. At the exhibition, the school unveiled two original photos of Yu, who died on Sept. 28, 1920, at age 17, while imprisoned for leading pro-independence rallies. (Yonhap)
