President Moon Jae-in places flowers at a tomb for one of the six sailors killed in a 2002 inter-Korean naval skirmish at a national cemetery in the central city of Daejeon on March 27, 2020, after attending a ceremony to pay tribute to soldiers who died in three major clashes with North Korea in the Yellow Sea, including the Second Yeonpyeong Battle with North Korea. The 2002 battle near the western sea border began when two North Korean patrol boats intruded into the South's western waters off the island of Yeonpyeong. Since 2016, the government has designated the fourth Friday of March as the commemoration day for them, known as the Yellow Sea Defense Day. (Yonhap)
