Death of Bishop John Chang Yik

Bishop John Chang Yik, who is famous for helping Pope John Paul II speak Korean phrases during his visit to the country in 1984, died of natural causes on Aug. 5, 2020. Chang who was born in Nov. 1933, was ordained as a priest in 1963 and made a bishop in 1994 and led the Chuncheon Diocese as well as president of the Catholic Bishops Conference of Korea.
