A street in Myeongdong, one of the busiest shopping districts in Seoul, is nearly empty on Jan. 16, 2021. Earlier in the day, the government extended its current social distancing scheme, at the second highest level of the five-tier system, for two weeks, while easing business restrictions on cafes, gyms and other indoor facilities.
