Ex-MLB All-Star Choo Shin-soo signs with new KBO club

South Korea's Choo Shin-soo hits a fifth-inning homer in the World Baseball Classic final against archrival Japan at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, in this file photo dated March 23, 2009. Choo, a former major league All-Star outfielder, has signed with the new Korea Baseball Organization (KBO) club to be owned by Shinsegae Group, the retail giant said on Feb. 23, 2021. Shinegae said Choo agreed to a 2.7 billion-won (US$2.4 million) contract and that he has offered to donate 1 billion won of that to charity. (Yonhap)
