Gyeonggi Gov. Lee Jae-myung, the current front-runner among the ruling Democratic Party's presidential contenders, burns incense at a monument on a 1960 pro-democracy movement in the southeastern city of Daegu on July 30, 2021, to pay tribute to hundreds of students of the city's eight high schools who rose up against the dictatorial regime of then President Rhee Syng-man on Feb. 28, 1960. The pro-democracy demonstration helped lead to a national protest on April 19, 1960, that forced the president to step down. (Yonhap)
