Protest over establishment of envisioned police bureau

Representatives of the national police officers' council have their hair shaved off during a protest rally in front of the National Police Agency in Seoul on July 4, 2022, to urge the government to withdraw its plan to set up an envisioned police bureau under the interior ministry in order to increase its control of the law enforcement agency as part of reform measures. Critics say the planned establishment of the police bureau could put the law enforcement agency under political influence. (Yonhap)
