An electronic signboard in the dealing room of Hana Bank in Seoul on Aug. 11, 2022, shows the benchmark Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) having gained 42.90 points, or 1.73 percent, to close at 2,523.78. South Korean stocks closed sharply higher, taking a cue from an overnight Wall Street rally after softer-than-expected U.S. inflation data helped ease worries about a drastic rate hike by the Federal Reserve.
